FAQ
Why can nothing open my FLV files?
Because they were made for Flash, which browsers removed at the end of 2020. The files are intact; the runtime they depended on no longer exists anywhere.
Should I convert the video instead?
Only if you need the picture. Most FLV archives are lectures and screen recordings where the audio is the content — extracting it is faster, produces a far smaller file, and skips the quality loss of re-encoding video.
What bitrate suits an old FLV?
128 kbps. Flash-era audio was encoded at modest rates for slow connections, and choosing a higher bitrate produces a bigger file without recovering anything.
Can I convert a whole folder at once?
