FAQ
Does converting to PDF reduce the image quality?
No. The JPEG is embedded exactly as it is, without being decoded or re-compressed. The image inside the PDF is the file you started with, byte for byte.
Why is the PDF page not A4?
The page is made to match the image, at one point per pixel, rather than fitting the image into a paper size. A phone photo therefore produces a large page. It still prints correctly because PDF readers scale to the paper, but the nominal page size is not a standard one.
Can I put several images into one PDF?
Not on this page — each image becomes its own single-page PDF. Combining them is a merge rather than a conversion, so it has a page of its own: convert here, then use Merge PDF to put the results in the order you want. Both steps run on your device.
What about PNG or WebP?
PNG is embedded directly too, the same way. WebP cannot be — PDF has no WebP support — so a WebP is decoded and re-encoded as PNG first, which is lossless but produces a much larger file.
Is the file size limit really 80 MB?
Yes for this conversion. Image work holds a decoded bitmap in memory, where a pixel costs four bytes regardless of how well the file compressed, so the ceiling is far below the one for video.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The PDF is assembled inside this page. That is worth more than usual here: photographing a document and turning it into a PDF is exactly what people do with IDs, contracts and receipts.
Is it really free?
Yes — every conversion on this site, with no account, no watermark and no daily cap. The work happens on your own device, so there is no server bill for us to pass on to you.
Do I need to install anything?
