FAQ
Why did I get a ZIP instead of an image?
Because the PDF had more than one page. Each page becomes a separate JPG and they are packed together so none of them go missing. A one-page PDF downloads as a plain .jpg.
Can I still select the text afterwards?
No. A JPG is a picture of the page, so the text becomes pixels and nothing can select or search it. Use PDF to TXT for the plain text, or PDF to Word for an editable document.
JPG or PNG — which should I pick?
JPG for pages that are mostly photographs or scans, where its compression is far more efficient. PNG for pages of text, diagrams and line art, where JPG puts visible haze around sharp edges and PNG stays exact.
How do I get higher resolution?
Set a maximum width in the advanced options — 2480 px matches A4 at 300 DPI, the usual target for print. Leaving it at 0 renders at about 144 DPI, which is sized for the screen.
Is there a page or file size limit?
No page limit, but the file itself is capped at 80 MB. Rendering holds a full-resolution bitmap of the page in memory, so the ceiling is about pixels rather than about the document, and it is much lower than the limit on video conversions.
Are password-protected PDFs supported?
No. An encrypted PDF cannot be opened for rendering, and the job fails with a message saying so rather than producing blank pages. Remove the password in a PDF reader first.
Does the PDF get uploaded?
No. The document is opened and rendered by a PDF engine running inside this page. Nothing is sent anywhere, which matters more here than for most conversions — PDFs tend to be contracts, statements and scans.
Is it really free?
Yes — every conversion on this site, with no account, no watermark and no daily cap. The work happens on your own device, so there is no server bill for us to pass on to you.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in any modern browser, on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. There is nothing to download and nothing to sign up for, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with the network switched off.
